Good works
September 28th, 2009 by Christopher Harris
Today in class we talked about grace, where it comes from and what it does for us. We also discussed good works and what does do and it does not do. Why is it good for us that we can not earn salvation through good works?

Connecting Rahab to Christ
August 30th, 2009 by Christopher Harris
Great posts last week. Keep up the good work this week. During our last few lessons we talked about Rahab, a prostitute, being an ancestor of Christ. Explain why God did not choose a “holy” and “pure” person instead of Rahab. Your answer should be longer than one sentence.

Amazing Grace
August 15th, 2009 by Christopher Harris
What is grace? This is a question we will be exploring all year long. I don’t know if any of us will be able to give the word-for-word theological answer, but my hope is by May we will come closer to seeing why it is so amazing. Take a look at this clip and post why you think the old man, John Newton, thinks God was such a great saviour.amazinggrace_once-was-blind_320×180

Time to start a new year!
August 15th, 2009 by Christopher Harris
Students,
Welcome to 7th grade Bible. This class will be very different from any Bible class you have ever had. Our goal is to gain understanding of Scripture by experiencing the stories contained in the Old Testament. Our focus will be Joshua through 2 Chronicles. In the third quarter we will take a short break from the Old Testament and experience the fictional journey of a pilgrim, Christian, on his way to the Celestial City.
This website will be a tremendous resource for you on our own journey this year. Several times your homework will be located here as well as other information you will need for class. You will also be required to post here once a week in response to my weekly post. This feature is not yet set, so I will notify you in class when to start.
My hope this year is that you will fall in love the Old Testament as you hear these stories and we strive to glorify God. I look forward to teaching every single one of you in class and wish everyone a great start to the 7th grade.
Coach Harris
